I am really honored and pleased to pen my words as the President of SLAPCEO our Association & would like to thank the membership for the trust placed on me. I would also like to thank the membership for their continued support in all our endeavors to strengthen the Association and its activities. I urge all members to continue participating actively and contribute to reap the benefits.
The period of 12 months to date have been so tumultuous and caused so much destruction in our little Island Home. More so it has created absolute chaos in the lives and livelihoods of all of us who make a living out of the Tourism & Hospitality Industries. The closing of our borders to all inbound traffic, whether they be Sri Lankan or Foreign, the rigid travel guidelines issued by other countries, our tourist generating markets advising their citizens not to plan foreign holidays until next year, almost all airlines grounding most of their flights, the general fear of human contact, etc. creates an environment that is so uncertain. On a positive note, this has enabled us to relook at our business model.
However amidst these hardships during the last twelve months’ time, we have successfully managed to complete some great projects.
I must thank SLAITO (Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators), the THASL (Tourist Hotels Association of Sri Lanka) and the CCHA (Colombo City Hotelier’s Association) for their continued support to us, and to increase synergies for our mutual benefit and in the interest of the industry.
On behalf of SLAPCEO, I would also like to thank Ms Dinukshi Bandaranayake our Company Secretary from Marks & Patents Lanka Pvt Ltd, Ms. Shafeeqa Kitchilan and our Auditors Baker Tilly Edirisinghe & Co. for their assistance over the past year.
Once again a Big Thank You to all for the generous support extended towards this esteemed Association.
Stay Safe and Stay Blessed
President SLAPCEO 2020
